Happy Thursday!! Let’s get to it- Here’s what I’m thankful for today:

I’m thankful for fantastic books. Whether they are fantastically written or fantastic in terms of entertainment, I love sitting down at the end of the day to read. I’ve read lots of great books lately (some of which I share here), and I’m thankful for the opportunity to do that.

I’m thankful for “ice days”: On Tuesday I ended up having an “ice day” and didn’t go into work. I’m thankful I have a boss who is concerned about our safety, and I’m thankful for some unexpected time to catch up on a few things and get things gathered up for my taxes.

I’m thankful for cozy sweatshirts. Sweatshirts and blankets are on the same playing field for me- both are warm, cozy, and make winter SO very much better! I’m thankful I live in a time where sweatshirts are a thing that people wear 🙂

I’m thankful for a quieter weekend so I could watch “House of Cards”. I’ve had a LOT of very busy weekends the past month where I’ve had to work a lot of the time. This past weekend, while I had some work to do, I had plenty of free time to, which lined up perfectly with the House of Cards Season 3 release!

House of Cards

I’m thankful for fresh fruit! I’ve been eating apples, clementines, and bananas almost every day this month, and I love it! I ran out a few days early, and didn’t have time to run to the grocery store, and definitely felt a little sad to be without them for snacks. I struggle to understand how people can NOT like fruit, because I think it tastes delicious, and I’m thankful for it!

Now it’s your turn to share! What are you feeling thankful for today? What’s your favorite type of fruit?

  1. Stay-home-from-work-days, blankets and cozy fires, and House of Cards → YES!!! My husband and I watched 7 episodes of House of Cards. So good! I also started watching Parenthood a few weeks ago (on my own) which has been quite addicting.

Favorite fruit lately has been apples. Definitely a pregnancy craving. ☺

I am also thankful that the weekend is almost here – my husband and I are going to Crater Lake National Park on Sunday for some snowshoeing and venturing around.

Snowshoeing sounds like so much fun! I haven’t been in over a decade and this is the first winter where I’ve been wishing I could go! I hope it’s enjoyable. I have 2 episodes of House of Cards left to watch!!

Today I’m thankful that the sun is finally making an appearance! We’ve had DAYS and DAYS of snow here and I was so excited to see the sun today.

I’m also thankful that I get a long weekend this weekend. I’m running a half marathon in Grand Junction (it’s on the Western Slope of Colorado). It’s a really small race and I’m looking forward to the gorgeous course along the Grand Mesa and the after party at a local brewery. Then I’m spending the rest of the weekend relaxing in the mountains at the hot springs. It’ll be a great little mini getaway.

I’m also thankful for your blog! I enjoy reading it. 🙂

Hey Rachel! Good luck on your half marathon! I’ll be looking for pictures on instagram 🙂 Thanks for reading my blog. I’ve enjoyed connecting with you and getting to know you a bit better!

  3. I love fruit. Vegetables, on the other hand, not so much. That’s awesome that your boss actually cares about workers’ safety! Definitely something to be thankful, because not all bosses/companies are like that (not in my experience, but I know others that have this problem).

I appreciate so SO SO many things about my job, and how my boss values each of us is definitely one of those things. Veggies definitely aren’t quite as delicious or sweet as fruit!

  4. I watched House of Cards too. Favorite Fruit? Clementines!

I’ve been eating clementines every day for the past few months! They are my January-mid March fruit 🙂 Delicious!
