The Little Things
November 30, 2012

Wow- we’re about to hit December once again. I struggle to believe that, because it honestly doesn’t feel like that long ago that I was going to my parents’ house for Christmas last year. Boy time sure flies when you’re constantly training for something! In my October Recap and November Goals post, I talked quite a bit about my upcoming half marathon. Having struggled with IT band pain, I was sincerely worried that I wouldn’t finish, and my primarily goal for the month was to cross the finish line. That race started a truly fantastic month for me! Here’s a look back on the last month:

Yeah. November was a great month. I ran a really fun and great race, I met my goals, but while I have rehabbed my IT band a bit, it still has a way to go.

And now for some December goals. December is tough because about half the month I’m on vacation from my job, so the structure isn’t there and my exercises change.

Now it’s your turn! What is one thing you accomplished this month or are proud of yourself for doing? What’s one goal you have for yourself during December?

You have had an amazing month!!! I am proud of myself for gaining a total of 10lbs in the last three months (hitting my goal) which has been really hard for me to do, but a necessity for my health!!!

  2. My goals for December are to get active! I know I’m going to feast, but I don’t want to sit around like a lazy lump.

  3. Hey girl!
I found you through RER and saw you had a 22 min PR in your half. REally wanted to say congrats on such a huge accomplishment!

  4. Love your recap! Just read the blogs on your Half Marathon PR and the post-race blues. I’m looking to do my first half in the Spring and I hadn’t even considered the idea of post-race blues but it makes SO much sense!

Thanks for stopping by! I love your blog, so it’s great to see you over here too:) I think knowing psychology leads to the post race blues making even more sense. It’s good to be aware of so you can plan a bit ahead of time. Good luck in your training!

  5. Great recap! I am def. going back those blog entries! 😀

My goal for December…is not to fall off the horse. I think I’m at a good place right now with my times, and I really want to do proper marathon training starting in Feb. 2013 so I don’t want to burn myself out nor let myself ‘go’ if ya know what I mean. So I suppose the goal is just to keep it up. I signed up for a race on New Years starting at 11:45pm! Should be fun. I am gonna try not to be too competitive and enjoy!

November saw me through my sub 30 4miler so that was my big accomplishment!

A race at 11:45 sounds like fun and such a great memory and experience. I plan to start half marathon training in February as well, so I’m sort of with you here- I just want to keep going so I’m in a good place by then. Good luck in your goals this month, and congrats on your great 4 mile time!
