The Little Things
January 22, 2015

Hello hello, and happy Thursday!  Here’s what I’m thankful for at the moment:

I’m thankful for a “January thaw”: There were a few days that we were in the upper 30s and low 40s, but it felt absolutely amazing outside (7 days before the start of the thaw, the feels like was -25, so really the temperature feels about 60 degrees warmer). I loved being able to take walks without 5 layers of clothes on, and I REALLY loved being able to run outside instead of the treadmill last weekend!

I’m thankful for game night! This past Saturday night I helped put on a game night for a group of people, and we had a great time! I love a good night of fun, snacks, and laughter with friends 🙂

I’m thankful for laughter. I laugh a good amount in life, and it’s so hard to imagine life without this little joy in our days.

I’m thankful for beautiful sunrises. The colder weather seems to bring beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and I’ve been really enjoying them! This past weekend, I stood outside on my porch for almost 5 minutes and just watched the sunrise; it was beautiful! I’m thankful for these gorgeous displays of color each day.

I’m thankful for blankets. Honestly, cuddling into a cozy blanket is one of my favorite parts of winter, and I’m taking it to the max this year! Most days I’ve had anywhere from 3-5 blankets on my couch, and have enjoyed snuggling underneath them!

Now it’s your turn to share! What’re you feeling thankful for today?

The thaw really has been nice, and I’m also very thankful for some “warmer” weather for running, commuting, and making winter less miserable.

I’m feeling thankful for my health and my family’s health. A blogger friend of mine recently lost her grandfather, and one of my client’s lost his father in a heart attack this week. Tragedy is so painful for those experiencing it, but it also reminds those of us on the outside to be grateful and to improve our relationships with the people we love.

These are really fantastic things to be thankful for. I think it’s really easy for all of us to not pause and think much about our health (until we’re sick or someone else close to us is sick or dying), but it is something HUGE to be thankful for! Have a great Thursday 🙂
