The Little Things

Happy Thursday! It’s starting to feel more like spring, which is such a very happy thing 🙂 Here’s what I’m thankful for today:

I’m thankful for “The Stick”. The stick is one of the greatest inventions for people who are physically active. I love (and sort of hate) rolling out my tight quads, IT bands, and calf muscles are long runs and bike rides. I also love that it’s small enough to easily throw in a suitcase when I travel!

I’m thankful for warmer weather! This weekend and start of the week, it was in the upper 50s-low 70s, and my heart felt wonderfully full and happy. Yes, I’m learning to like winter, but warmer weather is my first love, and I’m SO happy that we’re getting some warm days thrown in between cooler days now.

I’m thankful for the sound of chirping birds. I’m absolutely loving hearing birds chirp while out on walks and while sitting in my office at work. It’s so cheerful sounding and brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

I’m thankful for buds on the trees. SPRING IS ON ITS WAY! I love seeing buds show up on the trees, and I’m thankful for these little signs that new life is coming once again.

I’m thankful for the kindle! I love being able to read in bed with all the lights off, and I really loving being able to download books straight from the library. While I do love paper books, it’s so easy and convenient to do it all from my living room (especially because I’m working such crazy hours that don’t often line up with the library being open). What a nifty little invention 🙂

Now it’s your turn to share! What are you thankful for today? What signs of spring are you seeing right now?

I love to torture myself with the Stick! It helps prevent soreness and tightness like nothing else- that and the dreaded ice bath really does work.

Today I’m grateful for spring rain. It doesn’t rain in Denver much of the year, but spring rains are so rejuvenating! It smells amazing too. I went for a brief run in it because I just wanted to smell it and be part of it.

    Happy, happy Thursday!

Have you ever had someone else use the stick on you? It’s great stuff. I LOVE the smell of spring and summer rains! Your run sounds fantastic 🙂

  2. I used to dislike e-readers but I recently had knee surgery and it’s been great to be able to download books right onto my iPad and not have to deal with holding a book and flipping pages. Now I’ve got to figure out how to download books from the library!

It’s SO convenient! I think there will be some books in the future that I will buy in hard copy to read because I want to go back to them, underline/highlight/write notes in it, etc… But for the fun books I want to get from the library, this works so well! How’s the recovery going?
